A Stroll Through Midtown
Last Friday night (09/17/10) I decided to take the city’s transit system, MARTA. Parked the car at the Candler Park station and rode the train to Five Points then up to the North Ave Station. Walked to 5th Street and entered the Kai Lin Art Gallery for the opening of “Zenith”. The funny thing is before I could get the camera out to take a few shots, this guy says, “I know what you have there. Take our picture!”. Lol. Okay. So, I snapped a few and walked around with the camera out. Took some random pics of things I found interesting. Then someone taps me on the shoulder. “Can you take a picture of me and my friends?”, says this guy. I did. There were some more I took of some other people. It was funny to me. People really want their picture taken at these kind of events. Someone even asked me, “What publication do you work for?”. “None”, I said with a smile. Although it was a lot of fun, those people will never see those photographs. I didn’t stay long and said good-bye to a few people I knew. Then I walked down Peachtree St to 12th Street where I hung out for the rest of the night. It was so nice to walk the streets at night with all the people out and about. Room 44 is a club that has a basement where Avenue X is held once a month. It was a birthday celebration for a friend and the theme was Black and White. You can see all the photos in my previous entry. Here are the images from “Zenith”. Click image. It will take you to a photo set.
Oh, Btw… I never took MARTA back. A kind stranger drove me to my car. I was at work at 7am Saturday morning. Ugh. Totally worth it.
